Hello, we’re the McCrarys–Keith, Debbie, and the kids. We’re a family loving life and raising quality Berners in the beautiful state of Montana.
The whole family is involved with caring for and training our adult Bernese and puppies. We live in western Montana where our dogs enjoy the fresh mountain air with us and are house dogs as well. We love this breed and are excited to share them with you.
We believe that breeding should be done to better the breed, and as such have imported from some of the best European lines as the foundation of our program. We keep a small number of dogs so that our adult dogs and puppies can be spoiled with lots of love and attention in our home and not in kennels. We also do early neurological stimulation and puppy culture protocols with our puppies.

Our journey into breeding and showing started with Shelties in the early 2000’s. Debbie had grown up with Shelties, so we found a couple of mentors who helped us learn a lot about ethical breeding and showing, which we have carried over into our current program. When our last Sheltie passed and we moved out west, we began researching breeds that would thrive in the mountains, and decided on a Berner.

We recently lost our 10-year-old female BMD to DM. Otherwise, vets told us she was remarkably healthy for 10. In her final months we had five vets examine her.
We live Big Sky, Montana on four acres, fenced. As you know that is the perfect place for a BMD.
So, we are in early stage of researching for another BMD. Our former breeder in Boise, Idaho may have very few litters in future so we are scouting other options. We were quite happy with that breeder.
Our breeder specialized in breeding “bear-like” BMD. Short, stocky types. Amusingly on our many hikes many commented how she looked like a black bear. We wish to pursue this same look. It appears you have raised some of this stature.
How often do you usually have a litter available?
There is nothing like a BMD, we miss her so much.
Hi there! So sorry to hear about you losing your Bernese! If you’d like to talk more about our upcoming litters, please send a message through the Contact page.
