Hello friends! I hope you’re having a good start to your fall! Our dogs love the cooler weather and being part of our autumn adventures.
Bulochka went along on a birthday special day ride and hung out close by while her humans roasted hot dogs and marshmallows over a campfire.
Bourne came along on a trip to town and went in the hardware store.
Bulochka and Bryshka both came along on a hike. (Bulochka wasn’t posing very well for pictures that day, though. 😊)
Brandi’s litter of puppies are seven weeks old now and growing great. They get lots of attention and socialization, love human interaction, and are great with children and people of all ages.
Here are some pictures of the puppies taken over the past couple of weeks.
We take turns choosing names for the puppies. This litter, Mama (Debbie), Sophie, Louis, and I (Savannah) chose the names. Mama chose Denali for the girl after the mountain Denali in Alaska. Mama loves mountains. Denali’s new family plans to name her Cascade after the Cascade mountains, and Cascade is what Mama named a puppy from our last litter! I chose Dynamite for one of the boys. We like to choose Montana/mountain-ish names, and I thought of the dynamite used by miners and railroad workers in Montana in the past, and I thought it made a cute name. Sophie likes to choose unique, nature-themed names, and she chose Deep, thinking of deep water. Louis likes to choose names of places in Montana, and picked Drummond, after Drummond County, Montana. Drummond is also a Scottish word meaning “ridge.”

It’s fun for us to watch them and see which puppies exhibit more of their mother, Brandi’s, traits, and which ones take more after their father, Bourne. Drummond (pictured above) looks an awful lot like his mother in that photo.
Their new families all chose their puppies either through a visit in person or a video phone call. It’s great to see how excited the families are and know our puppies will be very well-loved! While it’s important for their development for the puppies to spend lots of time with their mother and littermates while they’re this young, we’ve also started working on separating them for short times to help them transition to their new homes.
Well, it’s been a good month! Until next time, friends!
